Successful Influencing & Negotiation training

A dozen delegates from a range of Somerset businesses have teamed up to improve their Influencing & Negotiation skills via a training workshop at the Glass Box, Taunton Library.

The delegates included a civil engineer, public sector workers in government and local council, an electrical services company, a business analyst, and several who work in the charity sector. Arranged by team up training, a key success of the training was for delegates from such different work places to share experiences and learn from each other.

The training was delivered by Carly Catchpole, from Green Door People Development, a Taunton based training company specializing in personal effectiveness training and one-to-one coaching.

Comments from the delegates at the workshop include:

“Really enjoyed the style of delivery. Engaging and kept my attention throughout. Training with people from different backgrounds enhances the process and you get to see how others deal with different situations.” Mark, Civil Servant.

“Excellent, very informative and useful interactive exercises” Matt, Project Manager.

“Excellent delivery, highly recommended. Having people from different roles and businesses added great value to the training.” Patrick, Civil Engineer.

The delegates reflected on how they plan to use the new skills back in the workplace. The network mapping tools to maintain and improve business relationships, and the negotiation preparation techniques, proved to be the elements than most of the delegates plan to implement immediately.

James Harper, team up training Director, comments "The high quality of the trainer, the range of course delegates all sharing their experiences, and an inspiring local venue, sums up team up training perfectly. We’re looking forward to running further courses across the county over the coming months. The more that join in, the bigger the economy of scale achieved, meaning new skills are learned and existing ones sharpened across more and more businesses throughout Somerset”.
